Our Management Team

Dr Joanna Kidd

Director

Dr Joanna Kidd is the Director of Faros. She is also the CEO of Faros' sister commercial company, Ridgeway Information Ltd. From 2007-2017 she served as the Director of the International Centre for Security Analysis (ICSA) in the Policy Institute at King's College London. Earlier in her career she worked as a Defence Analyst at the International Institute for Security Studies and served as an officer in the Royal Navy. 


She has a PhD in social sciences from King's College London, an MSc in International Relations from the LSE and an MA in Modern History from the University of Oxford. 

Beth James

Chief Operating Officer

Beth is the Chief Operating Officer of the Faros Foundation and the Peace, Security, and Development Programme Manager at Ridgeway Information. She delivers large, multi-stakeholder research and innovation projects for UN, UK, and EU agencies on international peace and security topics, and her current work focuses primarily on the assessment and development of open source methodologies and tools to improve the capabilities and resilience of open source workflows.


Beth holds an MSc in Security and Resilience: Science and Technology from Imperial College London and an MMath in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Sheffield.

Katy Vioche

Administrator

Katy has worked in a variety of sectors and was previously Head of Global Logistics for a financial training firm, working with high-profile clients in the banking industry.


She has an MSc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from Birkbeck University of London and runs a private practice. Areas of study include the learning experience from early years to adulthood, the unconscious, and organisational dynamics, in which psychodynamic therapy is applied to organisations rather than individuals.
